NBC Bank is the oldest serving bank in Tanzania with over five decades of experience. We offer a range of retail, business, corporate and investment banking, wealth management products and services. The Bank traces its origins to 1967 when the Tanzanian Government nationalised all financial institutions, including banks. In 1991, the banking industry was amended and six years later.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, acquired 15% of the bank’s shares while the Tanzanian government kept its 30% ownership.
