JOB POSITION: NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR (1 POST)
REPORTS TO: INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGER
DUTY STATION: DAR ES SALAAM.
ROLE PURPOSE OF THE STATEMENT
To configure, support monitor and manage Precision Air’s local and wide area networks ensuring that the company LAN and WAN infrastructure availability is optimized at all times and secured.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSBILITIES
- conceptual design, configuration, and implementation of LANS and WANs in collaboration with network service providers, ensuring that vendor-proposed solutions are deployed within agreed-upon design requirements and optimized for the greatest performance.
- To guarantee that deployed networks handle network bandwidths and application traffic effectively and efficiently, collaborate with system administrators and business analysts on data traffic routing.
- Diagnose network bottlenecks, pinpoint the underlying reasons of the issue, and put solutions in place to guarantee maximum availability and optimum LAN and WAN performance.
- Work with the network service providers to verify that internal and external wired and wireless network services are operating at agreed-upon SLAs and to communicate with them as needed to resolve incidents and problems
- To design and implement appropriate redundant traffic routings where appropriate, cost effective, and necessary
- To liaise effectively with all outstations to ensure that network solutions are implemented within the company standards.
- Actively assess and monitor the functioning of the entire network, and suggest new ideas for networking and communications technologies to boost service dependability, cut costs, and better support business.
- Participate in the creation and upgrading of network standards, and implement all changes in accordance with them.
- Maintain and update all service links’ well-documented technical specifications to ensure that stakeholders can access information quickly.
- Develop technical documentation for network infrastructure solutions, network security solutions, and upkeep of associated equipment, appliance inventories, and implemented solutions.
- Identifying, monitoring and defining the requirements of the overall security of the system.
- Maintain firewalls, VPNs, web and email security protocols, perimeter security, network access controls, end point security.
- Ensure periodic testing of the organization’s network and systems from a security point of view.
- To assist and advise the organization with system upgrades, be aware of the most recent cybersecurity dangers.
- In order to promote ongoing network security advances, do research and offer suggestions on network security products, services, protocols, and standards. and setting up switches, routers, and firewalls with enterprise-wide security.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, or a comparable discipline
- Network and infrastructure expertise of at least five years in a busy commercial business
- Advanced industry certification in networking technologies and security, preferably Cisco CCNP Enterprise, Cisco CCNP Enterprise, Cisco CCNP security.
- Knowledge in routers, firewalls, switches configuration and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge in analysing, testing, and evaluating networks to make sure that they run properly and that they have the resources necessary for smooth functioning.
- Understanding of network security, including the architecture and configuration of firewalls, routers, and other security solutions from Cisco.
- Strong communication skills—oral, written, and interpersonal.
- Strong routing and switching abilities.
- Customer service and communication abilities.
