Transfer Vacancies
The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) was established through the Tanzania Meteorological Authority Act No. 2 of 2019. TMA is responsible for regulating, Coordinating and provision of meteorological services to the general public, institutions and individual users of tailor-made services for socio-economic development. The Authority is also responsible for issuing warnings and advisories on severe weather events for protection of human life and properties.
TMA is encouraging eligible public employees who want to transfer to the organization to apply for the following positions:
POST TITLE: DRIVER II (7POSTS)
DUTY STATION TMA: OFFICES
REPORTS TO: TRANSPORT OFFICER
Qualifications
Holder of a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE), with a valid Class C or E driving license, Basic Driving Course, and at least one (1) year of accident-free driving experience. An added benefit is having a Trade Test Grade II or Level II in Motor Vehicle Maintenance or Mechanics.
Duties and Responsibilities
To make pre – vehicle inspection to the assigned vehicle prior to traveling;
To drive Authority vehicles as assigned by the Transport Officer;
To report any vehicle mechanical defects to the Transport Officer;
To keep record of vehicle movements, distance covered within its logbook;
To keep record of fuel and type filled within its logbook;
To perform routine service to the vehicle; and
To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisors.
Mode of Application
Any interested Public Servants may apply and the application must fulfill the following condition:
- Send a letter of application together with a curriculum vitae that includes names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses;
- certificate copies that have been certified;
- submit three references’ names and contact information together with one’s passport-sized photo;
- Application letters must go through the employers they are applying to. Automatic disqualification will result if the letter is not forwarded to the appropriate employer;
- Since a transfer is not a promotion, candidates should submit an application for the position they are presently holding and include their check number;
- Only chosen candidates will be contacted for additional steps;
- For those Applicants who are successful in the transfer process to TMA, the Authority will pay the transfer charges.
