ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Manager is in charge of overseeing all facets of GLAMIโs programming, assessing its effectiveness, and reporting findings to the employees of the program, donors, and other stakeholders. In addition to overseeing data collecting, looking for new areas to gather data from, analyzing data, and producing reports, the individual in this position will design measuring tools and keep them current. The MEL Manager will conduct long-term evaluations and keep the program team informed of real-time monitoring outcomes. In order to guarantee that GLAMIโs outcomes are shared with our large community of stakeholders, this person will be responsible for leading the MEL team (MEL Coordinator & Interns) and collaborating closely with the Director of Programs, Grant Writer & Communications Manager, and Programs Managers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carrying out monitoring tasks and managing data collection
- Take the initiative in implementing the MEL planโs log frames, tools, and continuing monitoring, research, and learning strategies.
- Develop, maintain, and guarantee the quality of GLAMIโs measuring instruments (surveys, interview guides, focus groups, and more) to monitor the results of programs.
- Establish criteria for data collecting from stakeholders and the targeted recipients of GLAMI
- Assessing the necessity for programs to be delivered in order to meet the demands of the intended audience
- Analyzing stakeholdersโ input and sharing it with others to improve program delivery
- Instruct program teams in data gathering techniques, case study documentation, and report writing.
- Participate in the planning, execution, and monitoring of program activities.
- Maintaining every piece of MEL data in Salesforce and assisting the team in making use of it.
- Lead, oversee, and take part in data collection efforts.

- Analyze every piece of information, both qualitative and quantitative.
- Continue to monitor the key performance metrics and inform the program teams of significant developments.
- Create program activity learning reports to enhance program design and implementation improvements.
- Create initiatives (KISA and Binti Shupavu) with impact reports that clearly explain outcomes to partners, donors, and external stakeholders.
- Share knowledge with stakeholders to improve performance quality.
- Boost GLAMIโs MEL Initiatives
- Prepare data for publishing in grant proposals, grant reports, and journal articles that will be used for external reporting.
- Collaborate with GLAMIโs partners worldwide to evaluate the programโs emphasis on life skills and girl empowerment.
- Watch over the MEL team.
- Oversee the planning and execution of monitoring actions by the MEL team.
- Make sure the MEL team and program teams are cooperative and friendly.
- Directly oversee the MEL Coordinator to ensure that all data collection procedures are coordinated and MEL activities are supported.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- zeal for femalesโ education and empowerment
- A girl with at least a Bachelorโs degree, ideally in the social sciences or community development,
- 3+ years of experience working in research or monitoring and assessment
- Swahili and English are both written and spoken fluently.
- knowledge of doing data collection and creating measurement instruments
- Proficient analytical abilities and knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research techniques
- Proficient MS Excel abilities and sales force experience
- Excellent report-writing abilities using data
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
knowledge of statistical analysis programs like Stata or SPSS
Knowledge of managing salesforce and utilizing kobo tools
Expertise in the fields of education and/or girl empowerment
