The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority that supports mine health and safety for the mining and minerals sector under the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy and supports skills development for the Department of Higher Education Science and Innovation under the Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996.
The MQA would like to extend an invitation to interested parties to submit an application for an internship position with its Human Resource Unit. Applicants must be unemployed and have never taken part in an internship program. Only South African nationals are eligible for this chance.
The successful intern will be appointed for a period of twenty-four (24) months.
The successful incumbent will be exposed to the following Key Performance Areas within the HR Unit:
- Selection and recruitment
- Educating and Developing
- Performance management
- Labour/Employee Relations
- Information systems for human resources
- Payroll
- General management
- Wellness of employees
Skills required
- Good verbal and written communication
- Reliable interpersonal abilities
- A capacity for pressured work
- Resilience and agility
Minimum requirements
NQF Level 6 National Diploma or equivalent in Human Resources Management
A technical degree or college degree in human resources management, or a comparable qualification at NQF Level 7, will be advantageous.
Advantage
Knowledge of the mining and minerals sector will be advantageous.
