Relationship Manager – Scheme Financing NMB Bank Plc. overview

Position Description

Workplace: Head Office, Hq

Job Purpose:

Responsible for increasing the Liabilities (Deposits) and Assets from MSMEs (Micro and Small Medium Enterprises) in scheme financing. Advising Business Banking department on business strategy to build up and grow scheme financing, anchor propositions, contracting based client’s portfolio, and overall department strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

Actively promoting contractors and anchor proposals for credit facilities, scheme financing deposits, and cross-selling of other bank products (Forex, Fund Transfer, Internet Banking etc.)

Investigate commercial options to expand the scheme and deposit book and track the success of the current portfolio.
Review the anchor proposals and scheme financing credit applications that Business Centers and Branches have filed, and make recommendations for a decision.

Take the lead in directing the scheme financing portfolio’s activities by networking with business centers and branch managers and raising awareness of this market sector for SMEs.
To ensure excellent loan applications and business growth, develop the relationship managers’ and officers’ capacity through ongoing mentorship and coaching.
Take the lead in the scheme’s business development by implementing a successful call campaign to both current and potential customers for various businesses in various industries.

Promote the products of the plan both inside and outside of the business unit, train branches, and collaborate closely with other relevant departments.
Actively participate in the formulation or revision of the bank’s credit policy to make sure it complies with legal requirements and best practices for the scheme.
To determine whether a change, redesign, or relaunch is necessary, top tier SMEs, contractors, corporate clients, market intelligence reports, workshops/focus group reports, and product design and performance are examined.

By giving precise recommendations for selling in line with customers’ expectations, you can make sure that customer satisfaction for the plan financing portfolio is accomplished.
Create a budget and projections for the deposit products and scheme financing assets. The list of current, prospective, and potential clients who will profit from the loan and deposit products is included in the budget.

Knowledge and Skills:

Comprehensive knowledge of the characteristics of scheme financing products and anchor offers.
Strong analytical capabilities in credit.
Good customer interactions and a thorough knowledge of the loan products, policies, and procedures of the bank.
Conversant with common computer programs (Excel, Word, and Access).

Excellent communication skills and good English and Kiswahili competence.
Excellent leadership, management, coaching, and team-building abilities.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited higher education institution in supply chain management, finance, accounting, economics, banking, or a related discipline, or its equivalent.

It will be advantageous to have a Master’s degree.
Three years of relevant experience working with contractors and the FMCG industries/sectors (i.e., fast moving consumer goods).
