A capable and enthusiastic Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is needed by WWF and will be stationed in Masasi, Tanzania.

Major Functions:

  • Establish baselines as quickly as possible for all future project activities in the Ruvuma landscape.
  • Create instruments for data collecting, such as forms, surveys, and checklists.
  • Visit project field sites frequently to ensure data quality and record lessons learned
  • In conjunction with the project technical personnel, lead the process of developing and revising the overall landscape program and each individual projectโ€™s annual workplan.
  • Aid program teams in the effective execution of project workplans
  • Track and record the development of the project workplans.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of the monitoring systemโ€™s implementation and operation to offer on-site remedies to the problems and circumstances that arise in accordance with the monitoring plans for the overall landscape program and specific projects.
  • Facilitate M&E capacity-building workshops and meetings in the project region in accordance with project workplans, taking the lead on data analysis and management and incorporating project partners as needed.

  • Coordination of the project workplanโ€™s implementation monitoring, as well as timely submission of project/program monitoring plans and reports for assessment and approval to the Country Office M&E Manager and other necessary parties
  • Work closely with the programโ€™s communication officer to thoroughly record field success stories and lessons learned and provide them to the program teams for further distribution.
  • Plan annual and sporadic meetings for program reflection and learning in cooperation with the landscape coordinator and the transboundary landscape coordinator. (VACANCY)
  • Archive all M&E work in physical copies and electronic form in one area for team members.
  • Contribute to the creation of technical report drafts (TPRs) and offer feedback on each field report before submitting it to the project executants and leads and, eventually, the M&E manager.

Required Qualification

A bachelorโ€™s degree at the very least in one of the following fields: economics, environmental science, management of natural resources, program and project management, or monitoring and evaluation. A masterโ€™s degree in one of the aforementioned disciplines is a plus. at least two yearsโ€™ worth of experience helping with program monitoring and evaluation and data collection. Excellent facilitation and communication abilities.the capacity to plan, carry out, and record training in pertinent areas. Strong analytical abilities, including the ability to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data, as well as substantial information management system usage experience To fulfill deadlines, you must possess excellent organizational and time management skills. a capacity for both independence and teamwork. strong familiarity with databases, M&E tools, and computer programs. able and willing to travel widely both inside and outside the area as needed
