Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone bursary programme

Students are invited to apply for the bursary program through the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone SOC (Ltd) for the 2023 academic year. Academic first-year students who performed with codes 5, 6, and 7 in grade 12 topics will receive study aid. Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial and Mechanical Engineering, Finance and Business, Accounting, Information Technology, Computer and Data Science, Maritime, Environmental, Agriculture, and Architecture and Built Environment are the disciplines in which RBIDZ will offer study support. The study aid will be given to students from historically underprivileged backgrounds who want to enroll full-time in the designated subjects of study at the South African university of their choosing.

Documents Required for the bursary application

Grade 12 diploma and matriculation
letter of acceptance from the University of Technology or another university
3 months’ worth of pay stubs for the responsible individual (s) in the household OR an affidavit attesting to their unemployment or their receipt of an SASSA grant (s).
a letter of recommendation for character from a teacher or community figure
Letter of motivation outlining your reasons for wanting to attend a University of Technology or your preferred university, the courses you plan to take, and your future plans for employment.
certified South African ID copy
Evidence of Residence
