Position: Finance Officer

Report to: Finance Coordinator

Duty station: Nairobi, Tanzania (with frequent travels to the refugee camps) 20% of travel

  2. Ensure that donor requirements, NRC policies, manuals, and recommendations are followed.
  3. Make reports and analyses, then submit them.
  4. Ensure that all supporting documents are filed correctly.
  5. Support line managers with procedures and demand training for the support team.
  6. monitoring of staff members and capacity enhancement for those employees.
  7. Make sure that the reporting, monitoring, and accounting follow the prescribed procedures.

Specific responsibilities

  1. Ensure that national operations follow the requirements of donors, auditors, the NRC, and the global and local financial handbooks.

  9. Regularly check on budgets and update the area/support manager on spending trends.
  10. Make sure all supporting documents are filed correctly.

Scale and scope of position

Staff: (1) Finance Assistant

Stakeholders include comparable organizations like the UN, INGOs, local NGOs, civil society, and governmental organisations.

  • superb computer abilities and practical knowledge of computerized accounting systems; and
