The First Work Experience Pay Programme
Beginning on April 1, 2023, and lasting until March 31, 2024, the First Job Experience Pay Programme will offer matriculants between the ages of 17 and 24 work experience and training within one of the 13 Western Cape Government Departments. Minimum Requirements
You took the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exam in the Western Cape; only candidates who passed the final exams will be taken into consideration; You wonโt continue your studies in 2023; No work experience; post-matriculation education not yet completed; You live in the Western Cape and are a citizen of South Africa; You range in age from 17 to 24 and are unsure on what to do next.

The following departments will offer on-the-job training, development, and administrative experience: Department of the Premier; Department of Local Government; Department of Social Development; Department of Human Settlements (Infrastructure); Department of Agriculture; Department of Community Safety; Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport; Department of Economic Development and Tourism; Department of Environmental Affairs & Development Planning; Western Cape (WCED).
