The WMI Scholars Program is a scholarship program for women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The Perfect Candidate a student, whether male or female, from a developing nation who:

- is under 35 on March 1st, 2023
- Will be pursuing a degree in their home country or in another developing nation*
- is working on earning a diploma or first bachelor’s degree.
- will be enrolled in a course of study that will help the local area or further the development and progress of his or her own nation.
- after graduating, intends to reside and work in his or her own country
- has volunteered before applying, demonstrating a commitment to giving back
- Although he or she may have additional cash for education, he or she may need financial aid in order to complete a higher degree.
Each year, March 1 is the deadline for applications to be considered for the following academic year. WMI Scholars are chosen via a thorough, multi-step review procedure. On August 1, an email announcing the chosen WMI Scholars will be sent. Additionally, we will post their names on the WMI Facebook page and the home page of our website. After August 1, those who were not chosen will also be informed.

The following ideas will help you improve your application:
- Keep a record of all your volunteer work (dates, activities, time spent, photographs, etc.)
- To analyze your results, gather your national exam scores, secondary school transcript, and grade rubrics.
- Ask two people who are familiar with you professionally or personally to write two letters of recommendation on business stationery outlining your qualifications for the scholarship.
- Translate all of your documents into English
WMI Scholars Program 2023
Up until March 1, 2023, applications from eligible candidates will be accepted. We strongly advise you to read the WMI Scholar Program Information Sheet and the Frequently Asked Questions for Prospective Scholars paper before submitting your application. These two papers will help you assess your qualifications and direct you through the application procedure.
The following components must be included for an application to be deemed complete:
