Position: Project Officer
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Reports to: Project Manager
Job Summary:
The Project Officer will be responsible for the implementation and management of projects within Church World Service Tanzaniaโs food security and livelihoods program. The individual will work closely with the Project Manager to develop project proposals, budgets, and work plans, and will be responsible for ensuring that projects are implemented on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Officer will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating project progress, and for reporting to the Project Manager and other stakeholders as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage projects within the food security and livelihoods program
- Work with the Project Manager to develop project proposals, budgets, and work plans
- Ensure that projects are implemented on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Monitor and evaluate project progress, and report to the Project Manager and other stakeholders as required
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, and other organizations
- Represent Church World Service Tanzania at relevant meetings and events
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelorโs degree in agriculture, agribusiness, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 yearsโ experience in project management in the agriculture or development sector
- Strong understanding of sustainable agriculture practices and community-based natural resource management
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
